The Liger is a unique creature. It is fully a lion and not fully a tiger. It is a mixture of both. A Liger is born when a male lion and a female tiger mate. You might be wondering what happens when a male tiger and female lion mate. The result of this is the Tigon. The Liger is more lion than tiger. Unlike the Tigon which is more tiger than lion.
Characteristics
- The Liger has a large body and a big head. They have tan or dark brown fur with faded stripes from its mother. Being the biggest feline on earth, the Liger is usually more massive than its mom or dad. It is 400-600 pounds and 9-12 feet.
The Liger does not live in the natural world, only in zoos. It is very unlikely that a liger would ever occur in the wild, but it is possible.

Predators and Prey
Since the scientists are not aware of any Ligers in the wild, their hypothesis is that they eat deer, wild boar and young Asian elephants who do not have protection. They have made these assumptions based on the tigers diet. If they would be in the wild, the biggest threat would be humans. The Liger would not have any other predators, due to it's massive size.
The Liger is an amazing hybrid. That's why I have made a website about it.
